2024 Summit Program
(Draft)

The Science Events Summit is a gathering for anyone interested in live, in-person events that connect the public and science in some way. There are always some conference presentations, but the majority of the Summit is designed to foster peer-to-peer networking, exchange, and planning.

Session topics will be determined by input from participants, including answers to registration questions. Reach out to the Summit team if you would like to have a topic addressed. So far, participants have expressed interest in the following topics:

  • Fundraising and earned income
  • Inspiration at the intersections of art, science, and event organizing
  • Evaluation, understanding success, and conveying the greater impact of events
  • Interrogating "science" and its connections to people's lives
  • Using events to help institutions/organizations try new ways of working
  • Finding ways to work together regionally and nationally
  • The strategic use of events to forge enduring relationships with collaborators and communities

The Summit Program is always built around those attending, so it is usually not completed until about two weeks prior. What follows here is a sketch of how that program is likely to take place, and is subject to change.
